When Sinusitis Become Complicated.

It is hard to find someone who never had headache atleast once in his lifetime.  Majority of the headaches are  caused due to the problems related to sinus.  Sinusitis is a disease which creates headache for doctors and patients alike.

The infections caused to the tissues inside the sinus is called sinusitis. When these infections spread to the neighbouring bones and beyond, the complications become much severe.  These infections were common during early  days. But the invention of antibiotics and their effective usage has  helped to curb the diseases to an extend. However,  due to the lack of proper treatment, rarely the sinus cases do turn complicated.

Lack of proper treatment is referred to two occurances

• When the patients approches the diseases lightly.
• When insufficient medicine dosages does not cure the sinusitis completely.

When Sinus Affects Eyes

Eyes are located very close to the main sinusus such as  frontal, ethnoid and maxillary. For that reason the infection in the sinus easily spread to the bones that seperates  eyes from the bones.  The infection may  proceed further towards the eyes creating slight inflammation to the eye balls,  causes orbit and also infect the optic nerves leading to complete blindness.  If the sinusitis patients find symptoms such as inflamation to the eye balls, bluvry vision or eye pain, immediately consult a qualified physican.

Osteomyelitis

Infections of  sinus easily spreads to the neighbouring bones.  Osteomyelitis infects the bone marrow.  Red color formation of facial skin , inflammation of the cheeks, runing of nose, fever, inflamation around the eyes, and toothache are the symptoms of this disease.

When brain get Affected

Infection caused to the skull or meningitis encephatihs, pas formation in brain, cavernus sinus, thrombosis are common among such complications. Fever with severe shivering, head ache, vomitting, fits, unconsciousness, paralysis, behavioural disorders are few of the symptoms.

Mucosil Formation In The Sinus.

Chronic synusitis affects the normal functionioning of the sinusus and disrupts the free flow of secretions. The secretion then gets accumulated in the sinus to form a bag and gradually infects the bones. This condition is called mucosil. It is commonly found in frontal sinus and for that reason easily infects the brain and eyes. 

Formations inside The Nose

Certain formations are found in patients those ignore the sinusitis symptoms. These formations are found to originate from maxillory and ethnoid sinusus to reach the nose.

Oroandral Fistula

When the teeth are removed in sinusitis patients a passage is formed from the maxillary sinus to the mouth. This condition is called Oroandral Fistula. Food entering the nose while eating,  air entering the mouth while sneezing are commonly found symptoms. This can be cured through a mild surgery.

Bleeding Of Nose

Continuous and prolonged sinus infection may lead to bleeding of nose.

Anomia

Anomia is normally caused due to prolonged sinusitis or due to over administration of nasal drops. Difficulty to recognise the smell is called Anomia.

Besides all these, the infection in middle ear, throat inflammation laringitis of nasal vessel and pneumonia are rarely found along with sinusitis.

Beware Of  These Things

Flu like symptom for prolonged duration, nasal block and headache caused along side these symptoms may well be the symptoms of sinusitis.

Pain of eyes, inflammation, severe fever, blurry vision, tooth ache, etc are symptoms of sinusitis. Consult a qualified physician and get it cured.
