Food habits and lifestyle determines whether you become diabetic or not. Another common cause of diabetes can be hereditary in nature. If the parents are diabetic, there is a high possibility for the next generation to inherit the disease. Obesity, excess fat intake through food, lack of physical activities, cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption are the other factors through which one can turn diabetic.
Preventive Measures
To an extend one caould prevent himself from contracting the disease. However more than a disease diabetes is classified as a lifestye disorder.
- Lose your excess weight : Thoughthe excess weight directly won’t contribute to the cause of the disease, this could well be a symptom of it. Especially the fat deposited towards the middle of your body and visible in the form of a protruded belly denotes the existance or probability of contracting the disease. So now and the keep check on your weight and lose it whenever required through exercise. Regular exercise or yoga practicing keeps you fit and reduces the chance of becoming a diabetic.
- Eating habbits: Reducing the intake of greasy foods could be a preventive measure against diabetes. Completely avoid deep fried foods. Once you turn diabetic, avoid eating sweets and high calory foods along with the foods that are having high amount of fat.
Food order for diabetic patients:
The food items that a diabetic patient can take is classified into two forms. Could be eaten generously and could be eaten moderately.
- Foods that could be eaten generously: This include vegetables, leafy vegetables, beans and small fishes.
- Foods that coud be eaten moderately: Fruits that are less sweet including orange, guava, less ripe banana and water melon could be eaten moderately.
Regular Exercise
Doing regular exercise not ony control the weight but through expelling lot of energy helps in moderating the blood sugar level. More importantly it will stimulare the funtioning of insulin inside the body. Walking fast, jogging and swimming are the ideal exercises. Exercise for 20 to 40 minutes , five days a week. Lifting weight is not recommended for the diabetic patients. But cycling is good.
Beware of the Following Things
Cigerrate smoking and alchahole consumption should be completely avoided. These things can cause heart attacks and hyper tensionin diabetic patients.Yoga and meditation helps in controlling of diabetic patients
It is usual for the diabetic patients, the delay of wound getting heeled. This wounds quite oftenturn septic and in some cases result in losing limbs. So a diabetic patient should wear footwears, which suits the legs. Also an extra cure should be taken to keep finger nails divoid of dirt.
